Pretty much every household had a Swing Ball in the 1990's
The Swing Ball is a pole with a bit of rope holding a tennis ball. Then two players have a tennis racket each and the aim of the game is to hit the ball so that the opposing player can not hit it back. The game ends when one player manages to wind the ball all the way around the pole so that it is stopped by the rope.
Swing Balls were a very common sight in back gardens, on camp sites and if you had a base for the Swing Ball pole to go into you could play this pretty much anywhere.
This was a great way to keep fit and keep the kids occupied in the summer holidays. Take a look at the Swing Balls we have found and treat yourself to a good ol' game of Swing Ball in the garden.
